man explained that he was an elf and because of Fred’s good deeds he was being granted one wish..

He didn’t even hesitate but wished that from this time on he would always have a little more of whatever Roger  had.

The Elf said “ So you have wished so shall it be”

So it happened that right after the elf came ,  and said his magic words Fred came into a large inheritance. Then he

Bought the house on the other side of Roger which was just a little bigger than Roger’s.

He bought a little bigger car.

He bought a little bigger camper.

He filled his new house with furniture that was a little better than  Roger’s.

He got a new store front in the mall on the other side of Roger and four stores down that was a little bigger than Roger’s.

He now had everything he had ever dreamed of and so one would assume that he was happy.

One would be wrong.

Why? Because Roger never seemed to notice. Roger was as happy as ever..

So he invited Roger and his family to dinner. To his surprise they came. They enjoyed themselves. They didn’t even seem bothered by the fact that everything Fred had was a little bit better. In fact Roger even said that the Shrimp Rockefeller Stuffed Mushrooms with Parmesan Crumbs  that Fred’s wife served were a little better than his mother used to make  and his mother’s were very good.

Fred was devastated. That’s when the other things began to happen.

It hailed , huge hail. The hail dented Roger’s car but it dented Fred’s a little bit more.

Thieves broke into the mall at night and stole a lot of Roger’s merchandise  but they stole a little more of Fred’s.

 Roger came down with the flue and was sick.  Fred got the flue and was just a little sicker.

Now poor Fred lived in terror that Roger would get something like cancer.
